- AS you can see from the lack of responses, not a lot of folks that use
- Symantec's compiler hang out here. Or at least are very verbal. If you
- can work without any outside help, compiler specific that is.
- It is a very good platform. It uses MFC and so is a lot like VC++.
- I use the dos compiler and have found it works fine. I use
- Turbo C for my major dos work 'cause that's what I've been using, but
- just to test it, I used Symantec for a couple of things. I recompiled
- on big library using Symantec (dos) and it worked fine.
- If I had to do it again, I'd probably get VC++ just because there is
- so much help available for it and I've got a dos compiler.
- Before 7.0, Symantec had a dos extender so you could compile a 32 bit
- dos app, but I don't know if it is still available under 7.2 (current
- version) or not. I seem to remember that they dropped support for it.
- While poking around on the CD, I saw some of the older dos support
- programs so maybe it is still there, but you have to do something special
- to install it. Dunno for sure.

- Jim.
